1) One ballot entry per person. One vote per category.
2) You must cast a vote in a minimum of 5 different categories for your ballot to count.
3) Try to keep your votes local. We recognize that in some categories that is difficult. Categories are created by City Weekly editors with local-first emphasis in mind. The final results might include a regional or unique chains.
4) If you choose not to vote in a category, just leave it blank.
5) You may add to your ballot entry in additional categories until the ballot deadline of August 31, 2024. However, you cannot change a vote after 15 minutes of first placing that vote. If your session times out, or if you return another day to continue voting, simply sign in again using your registration email. You will be directed to the voting home page.
6) No ballot stuffing or manipulation is permitted. We know it when we see it. It happens every year. The software prevents voting over and over for the same person, place or business.
7) City Weekly reserves the right to protect the validity and integrity of the Best of Utah poll. As one example, if a place of business is getting votes in the category of Best Turtle Store, but they don't sell turtles, those votes will be disqualified. As another, if a category does not receive a sufficient number of nominees or votes, that category may not appear in the final published results.
8) The maximum number of first place voter entry wins accorded to any entity is three, with a total of six placements (in 1st, 2nd or 3rd) allowed for publication. Only the top six placements by number of votes received per category for an entity are considered. In all cases, the final results defer to entities in which that category is central to their core business.
9) When the voting period ends, the top three placements in each category will be sent to the Better Business Bureau which will further review voting results.
10) Thank you for voting. Watch for the annual Best of Utah issue coming November 14, 2024.
